Has anyone had an trans or TC shudder during light acceleration shifts? I get these occasionally it'll shudder 2-3 times and then be fine. If you are on the pedal more it really doesn't happen. So I get it in traffic on the 1-2 shift the most. I haven't been able to find anything online and my gut tells me to service the fluid and that will take care of it.

Thanks in advance,

John

When I bought my car, the old records indicated the following at 39,500 miles:

Dealer performed work
-- Replaced torque converter
--- Customer stated that while driving 15-25mph, there is a very pronounced shake when accelerating

OUCH.

Thankfully I don't have a very pronounced shake but I do appreciate the lead on a solution

Yes ..mine has been doing this. I thought it was because I was lowered (AWD)....but there were too many other signs of an overall transmission problem (biggest one being lack of response in lower gears). Picked up a new one today and I'm having it upgraded internally (transmission, Valve Body and Torque Converter).

The shudder will get worse and manifest into other issues, quite likely.

How many miles?

Ive known so many people with these transmissions and never heard of a single issue. Interesting... And thanks for the input.

The old trans had ~ 61k, new one has 28k. I spoke with IPT transmissions and another rebuilder near me and they both said what I'm experiencing sounds like bad clutches. However, they said they've seen the 7AT torque converter essentially grenade themselves.

They speak about here - https://www.facebook.com/IPT.Performanc ... 678848798/

I'll be shipping the new one to them tomorrow, hopefully will have it back in the car in 2-3 weeks.

Are you planning to run OEM fluid?

I know everyone says you MUST use the Matic S....but Nissan doesn't make their own fluid, I've read that it's rebranded Castrol Transmax.
I'll be going with the dexron VI LiquiMoly formula or Mobil 1....but I'm still researching that.

I'm a redline fan myself but only when I hear someone had good experience. I've never used amsoil but so many people swear by it.
