Googled this prob... many owners with same symptom - no cureThat's sad. Such a sweet car, one flaw - no fix? After warmup, transmission races, sometimes slams into next gear. Happens between 20-30mph. Took my 2005 Maxima SL to the dealer yesterday. After two hours, no problem found. C'mon. That's the kicker, sometimes it runs right. They told me just drive it, trans is bullet proof. That's not what I wanted to hear. No fix for this?

I put the wrong transmission fluid in mine, now it slams into gears when i hammer it a little. I was thinking about getting it repaired or replaced but havent really had the money nor know which i should do, get it replaced with a used one or have it rebuilt.

The tech at the dealership told me they don't rebuild them anymore, just replace them. At least, that's what Nissan does. He also said they switched to a different trans fluid. What I don't understand is, if this problem is so common, why didn't the dealer tech know about it?
