Tophat mounts, and i beat the firewall relentlessly. so i could get down into the top part of the bellhousing with a crows foot or just a wratchet wrench..

Another good idea i've found from experience... If you put studs into the RB25/0DET block, where the transmission goes and put nuts over the studs, its alot easier to guide the transmission back onto the motor.

i just did a clutch on my rb20 and one thing i found that was helpful or pretty much had to do it was remove the engine x member nutz and drop everything down 2 inches or so.

i did. remove the driveshaft from the transmission. drain the fluid. remove the transmission mount, let it tilt down a little bit, support the front of the motor. use a 24" or longer extension and take the bolt, starting at the starter. i used hand tools, so it's possible.

one tip, jack up the front of the motor, put some 2x4 wood blocks under so you wont crush the oil pan. this will help you get the transmission fitted back on easier. lot of bitching but you can do it.
