Trans blew a rear bearing and oil seal, the peices that the driveshaft connects to, it clicks once every rotation, does anyone know the parts # for those peices, and is it worth changing, or should i just source up a KA trans?

What type of car are we talking about here? You should be able to find part numbers at your local Nissan Dealer, parts store, maybe a factory service manual, and most than likely a quick specific google auto parts search.

I would hunt down a factory sevice manual to see what has to be done to change and replace the pieces you think have failed. Ask around locally to see what shops and dealers quote you. If this all seems too expensive for you, think about other options like a whole new transmission (probably more expensive).

Personally I would probably pick up a good used KA trans (they're cheap) and swap it in. Much easier and probably not much more expensive.

i was talkin about a CA trans, which is why i posted in the CA section,i am seriously considering swapping to a KA trans, how much better is the gearing on it, for quick launches, and highway pulls that is?

oh and does my assumption sound correct on it being that bearing, if i overfilled it by acident, would that cause such a big problem as the oil seal getting pushed out?

thanx for the replys all

Gearing is suppose to be indentical between 1-4 gears and 5 is the different one. 5th gear on the KA transmission is suppose to be bigger meaning a higher top speed. The CA transmission's 5th is smaller making it shorter or less top speed. I think of it as rally stlye gearing.

Too much oil blew it out?!

exactly, im just as confused, mebbe thats why the engine got junked back in the land of the rising sun? who knows, but i regularly do 4 or more hour drives on the highway, at unneccessary speeds cuz im still young and stupid so the KA trans sound really appealing right now.....
