Trans problem

[H.D.HUMPERDINK]

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what my problem might be? My trans is making a grinding noise when the clutch is engaged, and it is silent when it is disengaged. It shifts without any problem. My best guess is that its the pilot bearing.

At first i thought it was a syncro, but I would assume it would be hard to get the car in and out of gears. then i was thinking the release bearing, but it make a grinding noise when the clutch was disengaged. If anyone have another opinion please let me know.
