I encourage any of you 350Z owners (I'm one myself) to research the internet for blogs regarding transmission and clutch problems. 350Z owners are complaining of clutches going out anywhere from 1,500 miles to 22,000 miles - including people who have had 3 - 4 clutches in as many as 20k miles. There are soooo many postings out there - it makes me sick because I have 31k miles and my clutch is out - car in the shop. It started having problems around a year ago (prob 10k miles less) and Nissan told me there was nothing wrong with it and they couldn't fix a hydraulic clutch anyways.
After much fighting right now, I don't think I'm getting anywhere on the warranty issue with them and how ridiculous it is that so many people are complaining of the clutches going out from 1,500 to 22,000 miles. This is obviously a huge Nissan problem. Oh - and the dealer is saying my entire clutch system is out - flywheel, everything. Another reputable shop (one that I actually have used for 10 years and trust) says they couldn't possibly know there's a problem with my flywheel without taking the clutch system off. This will eventually come back to Nissan, but in the meantime - look at all of the postings on the internet about clutch and transmission problems in the 350Zs, and be very very wary of anything the Nissan dealer tells you.
