Trans noises

My Trans has been making some odd noises. When I’m accelerating it makes a whining sound. And when I’m off the gas or down shifting it makes a grinding sound.

check your gear oil in your trans,thats whats probably causeing your whining. I had a torn shift boot on the trans and lost fluid over time causing mine to whine now still shifts ok for now but thats where your whine is more likely coming from. about the grinding what type of gear oil are you using.

you might try changing your trans fluid to something a little more friendly on your transmission and its synchros. I run redline gl4 because I dont know the history of my transmission.

SR trannies are supposed to use gl4 class gear oil i personally have gm synchromesh fwd fluid and works good but when i get my new trans tuesday i will be running redline mt-90 with a half quart of shockproof light i think.

I did change it. I used MT-90.
