i just swapped in another transmission to replace my old shot one and i am having a differant issue with this transmission sigh, NONE of the gears work, when i put it in gear i can let the clutch out and nothing happens, also i do not need to push the shifter down 2 go into reverse, also when i 6th gear the reverse lights come on also any ideas, the slave cyclinder is bled, brand new clutch is installed, oem flywheel installed also, i am completely lost as to what to do, i was told the trans was good, if TOB was installd backwards could that cause this to happen ?

is your clutch disc in backwards or is this been happening as the origanal problem? and are you sure that is is the right cluth kit you used? how about your throwout bearing is it intalled or intalled backwards your reverse sensor and neutral sensors may be swpped for the problems with the reverse lights on in sixth maybe maybe we need more info

and if sensors were switched it would still engage when i let clutch pedal out, could be an issue with shift fork ?

the only think i can think of then i really think that if the tob was backwards you would probaly hear a bunch of noise when you first hit the clutch. the transmission may have a broken input shaft can you feel it just moving threw the gears poping into gear with it not running etc and then your clutch does it feel like you are moving the presure plate when you ingage it? oh did the transmission you got to put in new or just used?

maybe you can pull the rubber boot off of the area where your lines go in to your slave and see if you are in fact pushing the presure plate in if that is the case then more then likely you may have a bad transmission broken input shaft

hmm thats possible, i got a spare trans i could use the input shaft from, i have done a lot but i never tinkered with a trans before, i am gunna look at it now, so if i remove the boot, and when i depress clutch pedal i see see pressure plate than u think its input shaft

its a 2004 and its a used trans, weirdest thing is that i dont have to depress the shifter for reverse thats what shocks me the most well that and that when i put it in any gear with clutch depresed or not nothing happens

one other thing you can check is that your shifter linkage is installed right

the sale is pending on one of them right now not sure on if it is going to go though i went 350 on it i still have three of them left if that sounds good i am not sure on shipping if your out of state or whaterver i live here in abilene texas but i can get a estimate on shipping if your interested , i think that you may want to check and make sure that your shiffter is working as well that big white round piece at back of the tail and make sure the three bolts are in good there is a spring under it and make sure that they are all the way in and see that it moves, there may be a problem in that area, the shifter inside it may not have got put in right i think that i would make sure that it is good i have almost made that mistake it will only go in one way

i am not sure that there are diffrent forks but i think that you may as well check it out, when you have it out bench test it and make sure that you have movement at the rear tailshaft when you have it in gear while turning the inputshft by hand test it in all gears if the tailshaft will not move then yea a bad transmission is what you might have stateing that indeed it is in gear and make sure that all your shifter linkage is right and working with what you stated about it going into reverse without haveing to push down the shifter i would indeed check it before you take the time to pull it all the way out of the car. i am kinda interested in what you find as to the problems on it so let me know thanks
