Trans has less then an inch to go in but wont

How can I get it the rest of the way in, its less than an inch and with one finger can make the the whole thing spin? Any tips??

Did you use a pilot tool to center the clutch before trying to hang the tranny? If not, the input shaft will miss the pilot bearing and it will never seat.

Yea i used it and made sure to bolt everything down before taking it out, it is so close but wont go the rest of the way

the pilot bearing should just be flush right? Or does it need to be as far as it goes

I don't recall ever replacing one myself, I was out of the biz during those years and we don't see many oldies at the dealership. But the FSM shows it all the way in. See EM-48:

I just checked, i didnt see it all the way in on that link, but I seen them taking it out. I have it flush rn, and in other videos I saw the same thing, so it might not be that, I’m still trying, but nothing yet
