I do agree with Redman though... Bloodshed (or at least some sort of dermal abrasion) is NECESSARY in order to keep the Q going....

If your not getting hurt it will become incooperative.....

If you're working on your car without safety glasses, SHAME SHAME. You'll still get grit in your eyes, but way less than without them.

Depends on your location. If you're in a more moderate climate, or in an area that's more than cold, you want to bypass the factory heater alltogether. The B&M cooler has a design that sends ATF back to the transmission without sending it through the fins if the viscosity is too thick. Using Mobil 1 ATF also helps with this... since it's viscosity should be more stable over a wider range of temperatures. In any case, a good warm-up cycle to operating temp. before driving will make sure you're in good shape.

If you're up north, a parallel setup may be more desirable. I've thought about some nice gate valves to switch over in the winter - but in my climate it's not worth it. In the snow belt you could swap in your old 2nd gear start TCU and flip the valves with your October oil change every year!

Important that you know what the ATF temperature is doing in your local driving conditions [hills or mountains or bumper to bumper clogged traffic quick accelerations].

Each set up can be different to improve specific problems.Don't blindly assume that an external cooler will solve all conditions all problems.

I like to use what the factory designed then use an external cooler to just lower the resulting temperature another 10-20F when it can.

You really need a ATF temp gauge to see the returnline temperature and some summer driving time to see if you need more cooling.

The only sure fire [non temp monitored] solution is fresh ATF at frequent intervals based on dye color changes.

JT - If I understand Q45techs post he doesn't really approve of the transmission cooler because hey OEM didnt do it.

I believe your setup is fine even with a little cool mornings as you put it. Yeah when you wake up with frozen over windows then that is cold.
