Hi I have a 95 240 se and the check engine light is on ,it is a car I am slowly going through and I found a wiring plug at the transmision tail shaft that is not connected and a vent tube that should be mounted to something if you could help with a break down of where things should be and what that wiring plug is for that would be great. Thanks

the wires are probably the speed sensor. its real popular for guys to disconnect them to eliminate the speed limiter. the vent tube not sure what you are refferring to. picture maybe? where is its exact location??

the vent tube is a rubber hose that is connected to the trans and on the other end is a u shaped metal tube with a mount for bolting to some place like a bellhousing bolt. Hope that helps, if not I could get a pic or if you know where to get a parts break down for me to look at ? thanks

I still can't find where this wiring plug goes I have a two wire plug coming from the tail shaft with nothing plugged to it, it is a black female. The loose harness is a gray female plug with two wires, it is plugged to a three wire harness the odometer is working fine and there is a harness connected to what I would say is the speed sensor. I don't know the trans history it be another year if you could tell me how to check I would be glad to thank you for the help.

Ok, no pic but I found some loose wires that got pulled out of a plug for a neutral saftey switch and now I have a 2'' pig tail harness that plugs into a three wire plug on the main trans harness and has a two wire plug that I don't know where it plugs in.

OK very common problem the crank sensor gets broken when you r and r the motor or trans so that was where the harness from the trans went to. I ordered a new crank sensor, what does the crank sensor do? I know it referances top dead center but what effect would that have if its not plugged in?
