Are there adapter plates to mount a 6sp manual trans from a G37 to a VH45 engine? If not, which ones are out there?
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Thanks. I had seen that one on one of the build threads on here, but was wondering more towards the G37 trans. Any ideas why the Z32 trans is used instead of the G37 trans?

Yeah I got my transmission in pretty good condition but still need to look into that further haha But I got it for $230 and they are built very strong as far as for what I have read, also the gearing is not that bad in comparison of the two also the Z32 has a steeper 5th gear than the Z33's 6th. There was a guy that was fabbing an adapter for the z33 trans though but I don't know what ever happened to that I'll see if I can find the thread again for ya though.

mazworx has both transmission drawings on file, im sure they could make the vq 6 speed work for the vh adapter plate they sell.

The main issue I see with a really long spacer is the shear on the fasteners.. A lot of torque could really shear those bolts off..

Another issue i see long term is if the spacer becomes warped at all, that could cause some issues.

Well I have my vk45de from an 06 m45 and I have a 6 speed manual trans from an 08 G37 sitting in my garage. Now I need to bolt them together. All over the internet are people saying the 6 speeds from the VQ35HR and VQ37HR engines have the same bell housing bolt pattern as the VK45DE and I can tell you right now that they AREN'T the same. I've seen adapters for the VH45's with a z32 trans but haven't seen any for the V45K's.... and I would like to use the z33 trans since I already have it :)
Wouldn't hurt to call mazworx I guess. I'll keep you updated, I think it's gonna be a nice combo if I can make it work

Jim Wolf is coming out with one to adapt the vq35 6 speed. Have a look it's much different then other designs. I don't know if it would work with the g37 trans though. http://jimwolftechnology.com/news.asp

Yeah I'm sure it's going to be expensive but it could be worth it to those people that really feel they have to have that extra gear.

It's nice to finally see parts of the same caliber as what you see with hot rods for our cars and engines.
