Does any one know of a good transmission shop in the Dallas Fort Worth area? The Dealership is quoting me $3 to $5 to replace the transmission for a 94Q.

Thanks,

Stephen

Don't assume that a local shop can rebuild a transmission less expensively [much less better] than the factory facility in Tennessee. Because they [locals] work on this model so so very infrequently.

Probably 90% of changes are factory rebuilds, 5% junk yard takeouts replacements and the remaining 5% are rebuild by some independent tech at a shop.

The dealers get these units for around $1300-$1400 delivered to their door. It takes 5-6 hours to change the transmission...............the other problems are the radiator heat exchanger.

At 5 k they are smoking dopw and including a new radiator (not a bad thing if your transmission fails to be sure).

you cna get an actual new infinit reman transmission for $1800 thru this board. add shippping, find a local installer and bingo your done at $2300 with a tanny thats better than any AAMCO butcher job.

Call Joe at infiniti parts USA.Tell him your a NICO member and he'll hook you up.He has done this for years, as of recently they are a sponsor too, so u can see their banner on left. Be sure to phone them not email.

Fred..:)

Yeah, I'd always planned to go with an infinity re-build, but the $$ dealerships are quoting $3k to $5k seem outragous for an part that only costs 1800, and labor of maybe 6-8 hours. So....any shops that will put the new/rebuilt infiniti transmission in for a reasonable $ in the DFW area?

Thanks,

Stephen
