my sr20de did not come witha transmission harness. now i have to figure out how to splice.

my ka has 4 plugs on the harness and 4 on the transmission, but the transmission is missing the speed sensor and there is no plug for it on the harness!

my sr transmission has 3 sensors speed, neutral pos. sensor, and another. there are no plugs on the transmission just one that mached up with the ka harness(not plug but wire color on plug), which was the "other".

so there are 3 plugs left on ka and 2 sensors on sr.

the nps is 2 yellow wires! that should go with the black and green/orange stripe. but which yellow goes with black.....

one of the plugs left is black and yellow/blue stripe.....it should be yellow with green stripe! which would go to the speed

can someone look at their sr transmission harness and tell me the colors, the colors are diff on each side of the plugs and i don't have the other side of the plugs

swap the speed, reverse, and neutral sensors right over and use the KA transmission/starter/alternator/battery harness. Just leave the extra plugs dangling :)

Yeah like J-spec said you will have extra plugs/sensors from the KA that are not used on the SR transmission.

Oh yeah, and for mine, i had to lengthen the speed senser and starter wires a little, other than that, it all clips and screws on.

i am using the lower ka harness with the alt. starter etc.

my prob is that my transmission came without harness or plugs(the plugs on the transmission were cut!), so i cut the plugs off the ka transmission harness and spliced the wires together, i hope i got the right ones together!

like i said for some reason this 93 ka had 4 sensors and a speed sensor that was missing, and the harness only had 4 plugs!!!WTF

one of the sensors(closest to the engine) on the transmission had a plug on it and the colors matched on one of the plugs on the chassis harness so i probly got that one right.

the neutral pos sensor, iam pretty sure is the sensor on top in front of shifter. the wires coming off it are both yellow!!!! this one i spliced onto the wires that are black(ground) and green with orange stripe(ocording to heavythrottle the green/orange stripe is the neutral pos sensor, well on the other wiring.) so i don't know if i got it right, both wires are yellow, or does it matter??

then the speed sensor wire was supposed to be yellow/green stripe but the only one close that was left was yellow/blue stripe! i hooked it up. now heavy throttle wiring says that the yellow/red stripe is the tach. and this is the wire that is left.

well i guess i will know when i get it running whether i got it right

the wires on the sensors are different than the wires on the plugs that plug into them, so if you have sr harness and you can look at it please letme know what colors are what

You shouldnt be splicing ANYTHING, Go buy the appropriate sensors and harness at a junkyard if you dont have them. This is how it works:

As you can see, you have 2 dangling plugs off the harness you dont use, and the speed sensor connection is by the alternator.

I have read about people doing it other ways but this is the sure fire, easy way to do it.

I have a quick question, I found a plug under my fues box with nothing pluging into it. I also found were the sensor used to be that plugs in to it and its gone, It is the plug directly underneath the fusebox and Im guessing it has somthing to do with why my car wont start, also i have no idea why the sensor was cut off.

The connection plug from my speed sensor on my transmission was cut. The other connection plug from my harness is intact.

Now, the color of the wires on the speed sensor is yellow and green. And the color of the wires coming from the harness is yellow/ green and i think yellow. Please correct me if wrong.

I need the connector plug for the speed sensor seeing that it has been cut off. What is the name for this connector or what does it look like or where can i just get one from? (i.e. what model car/year)

Speed sensor plugs to the lower harness. I used my stock KA (93) lower harness as do most people. Therefore, you can use atleast a 91-93.
