transmission Troubles

Ive got an 89' with 140k on it, My 5 spd locking me up when I try to go from reverse to 1st, unless I get a little roll backward, I also get some rubbing/grinding going from 4th to 5th. I was thinking transmission mounts or engine mounts, but the transmission mounts seem ok. Anyone have any ideas, without pulling the transmission out?

Is it coming from inside the transmission, if so it's probably the syncros.

Whats the going rate for a rebuild?

Probably more then you are willing to pay. It would probably better if you could find a low mileage used one in a junkyard.

89 through 98 KA trannies are all the same. You should have no problem finding one.
