I'm looking at installing a transmission temp gauge on my wife's 240 (with automatic transmission, of course.) Has anyone else added one via either a port on the transmission, a bung welded to the pan, or a cooler line? Anybody know if there is a convenient port on the transmission? I would go with the cooler line from the transmission, but i'm not sure finding compression fittings for it will be an easy task. Thanks for any help.

What is your reason for wanting to monitor your transmission temperatures? Is this a full out race car.

No, it's a bone-stock daily driver that will be used infrequently to tow a light trailer.

Wow, first time I'll be seeing an S13 tow truck.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said I was going to do. Turn my wife's 240 into a tow truck, complete with heavy-duty hydraulics, electric winches, etc.

It's a simple question. If anybody has anything constructive to add, I'm all ears.

not sure if you wanted to do this or know how to weld but, you could drain the fluid, pull the transmission pan off, clean the inside of the pan, find a mount that will work, cut the hole out and install the mount by welding it up fully, install the sensor, wire it up to the gauge and there you go. btw make sure you will have clearence for anything that is inside or outside of where you want to install the sensor.

good luck!
