transmission syncro question

third gear is grinding and i need to get anew syncro for it are any other nissan trannys the same as a rb20?

From what I understand the KA trans and the RB20 trans are the same besides the front bell housing.

How about for the RB25DET transmission? I get some grinding in Second and I am sure the transmission could use a general rebuild

Well, for the rb25 transmission, I've been thinking for a long time that you could probably just get a z32 transmission rebuild kit. Some of the stuff might not work (misc gaskets) however, the basic syncros and bearings should be the same since it is the same gearset.

rb20=ka24 rebuild kitrb26/26=vg30de[tt] rebuild kit.

the tt is in brackets because the z32 turbo and non turbo use identical transmissions. the sole difference between the tt and na z32 trans is the starter is located slightly more outboard on the tt to accomodate the tt's larger clutch and flywheel.
