Hello, Peoples! I had a question! My husband and I recently did a transmission swap on our '96 240sx SE, and I've been trying to find out if I get a manual ECU for the vehicle, will my autostart still work? It still has the auto ECU in it, so the autostart works right now. If I put the manual in there, will I have to rewire something? If so, anyone know where I can find information on that? I've been googling all day and I cannot find anything (maybe I'm not wording my keywords for search right... I don't know...)! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!~

is your auto start aftermarket? if so if you swap your ecu itll still work, but im pretty sure no factory car came stock with an auto start but hey i could be wrong.

Yes, it is after market. I put it in when I bought the car back in 2002... It's a Viper 550ESP. The tech that did the swap said I should have no problems since I still have the auto ECU in there, but he didn't say anything about if I swapped it for a manual ECU... I just wanted to make sure because it's so hard to find any information on whether autostart will work with a manual ECU since most people need to like rewire stuff to make it work for manuals. So... if anyone else has any input, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

yes it can still work, i would however contact the company of the start or the tech to see if there is any differences in wiring. there shouldnt be, but there may be for the Clutch nnuetral safty switch.
