I have an 1989 sohc transmission, and a 1993 dohc engine. The dohc had an auto on it, but im using my sohc manual transmission. Ill be using the dohc clutch assembly but Im just making sure what all I need.I have the clutch and flywheel, but ill need the pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing...anything else??? What do I take off the auto to replace with the manual..ive already taken the auto flywheel and torque converter off...Ive searched already and couldnt find anything...thanks in advance. Also, will the sohc starter work on dohc motor??

i ran with an auto motor using a manual transmission keeping the auto pilot bushing and didn't have problems... if you really need to take it out.. a trick used and still use... take a shaft that is the same size as the pilot bushing... pack the the pilot bushing with a ton of grease and take the shaft and pretty much pump it into the pilot bushing till the grease forces the bushing out... hope that helps

wish someone would have told me I could have left it alone like a week ago, now I have drilled holes into the bushing and cut a 1/4 wide hole in the top of the bushing....would it still be functionable if i just smoothed it out on the inside of the bushing?? Thanks, your really helping me out.

LOL...I always read that you needed to swap it out...And read that someone didn't and had problems...Well being that it is now drilled, etc. mine as well finish it off.Because that is now a weak part of your system prone to failure.Take a sawzall to it. Or someone chime in with the trick.
