sorry i dont know if this goes here, i replaced the clutch assembly on my 89 240 because it was slipping. replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and bearing. the problem is that its still slipping but its hardly moving at all now. it'll go for a bit but once it warms up it goes nowhere, the other night the fastest i could get it was up to 25mph then it gradually slowed to 2mph. we lost prolly about 2 quarts of fluid when we were replacing the clutch. i replaced the fluid but now im stumped... anybody ever had this happen to them? or anybody know what the problem could be? any help is greatly appreciated.

It's probably your slave cylinder, check it and the master. How many miles on them? You might just need to bleed it though, might be air in the lines

Did you resurface the flywheel? If your slace cylinder or clutch master go it shouldn't cause a slipping affect, but as if you could never disengange the clutch.

i didnt resurface the fly wheel. didnt know about that. as for the alignment we used the little alignment piece that came with the clutch when we put it in. oh and also after we replaced the clutch i could turn the car on put it in first and step outside the car and it would just keep running. it didnt stall like a standard should.

Pull the transmission off, your gona have to do it again. It sounds like the pressure plate isnt even pushing the clutch disc against the flywheel.

Did you adjust the clutch pedal as described in the fsm? try that before you pull the transmission again.
