I think to replace those bulbs you have to take the entire shifter assy out.. not really hard just disconnect it from the trans and then undo the 4 bolts and the harness connector...
ThanksI might give it a miss for a while until I work up enough energy. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to replace a few $2 bulbs. I haven't driven it for about 2 weeks now and I feel the urgent need to get it out and THRASH some poor unsupecting rev head.elwesso wrote:Greg..
if you get under the car you can see where the shifter comes down out of the car.. A thin metal bar that is bolted onto the trans with a 10mm nut. May be rusted so put some penetrating oil on it.....
As far as the 4 bolts holding it to the car, you need to remove that thing around the shift console, that black rubber boot looking thing. The bolts are on the 4 corners.
