Just did a complete transmission service which included fluid exchange using Mobil 1 synthetic, then drop pan replaced filter/screen O-ring and gasket.

Fluid exchange took 13LDrop pan another 5L.

When the pan was dropped about 5L came out which was replaced so a total of 18L was used. Total cost for parts 180.00Cdn. no labor since I did it myself with a cousin who works at a mechanic shop.

The machine used to do the fluid exchange was Model ATF2000+.It took about 5min to exchange 13L of ATF.

Once the pan was dropped I was surprised that the magnet was not all that dirty about 1mm or less of filings on the magnet and the fluid color was close to pink. The strainer looked clean no debris visible.

In my opinion this transmission was well maintained by the previous owner. In the future I will only drain the fluid from the pan every 50K Km or when the color looks bad.

Just curious...do they really sell fluids in liters in Canada? Qts and liters are almost the same, it never occurred to me that maybe only in the US is oil sold by the qt.

"It took about 5min to exchange 13L of ATF."

The perfect time is 3.5 minutes and the worse we've seen is 6.0 minutes. That should give you some idea of your condition. 40% slower flow per minute assuming standard idle speed.

Q45Tech, that was just an approximation, my judgement of time is a bit skewed, and I wasn't using a stop watch. It could very well be that it took only3-4 min.

To remove the old gasket was a B@*#ch, it took a lot of scraping and lots of elbow grease to remove. I was told there is a chemical that can be used to loosen it up and make removal easier.

The new gasket I got from the dealer was not the paper type it was dark grey in color and looked like a rubber material. I did reuse the old pan screws and so far no leaks, the pan is dry like a bone.

I can honestly say that this service was not absolutely necessary give the condition the internal components looked, however it was done for the Peace of mind, just knowing it was done and all looked well.
