transmission sensor..

Guys,What kind of sensor sits on top of trans bell housing and is towards the driver side? It has 3 wires coming out of it.

I have a buddy that just swapped my old ka24de into his s13 chassis. We have the sensor and plug but wires are cut and salvaged harness has no wires going to it. Just curios what it is and if its really needed. The car runs decent but could run better.

Im assuming it came out of a S14 car, if so then its the CAS (crank angle sensor)

Did you use the S14 wireharness and ecu also?

Nismo1182,Yeah... it is a s14 ka24de.

The harness is a mix of a s14 and a s13 harness.... a local guy here in town claimed to know all about the harness and engine swap.... he re-wired it for us. However, we are not sure he knew axactly what he was doing.

I am assuming the CAS is pretty important, how badly does it affect the performance of the car to run with out the CAS?

OK, You moved the thread...

The CAS Is only used for On board diagnostics, and has nothing to do with running the engine. Thats almost verbatim of the FSM.
