lookng throught the fsm shows no specialized tools. various drifts, puncihes (sizes given) and pullers are all they show. if you have a decent set of tools you should be ok. i would get a couple different gear pullers and snap ring pliers. get the fsm for that year transmission if you don't already, their almost all available as zip files on the web. it shows all the measurements and checks you need to make in the back of the section under service data and specifications. if need i can scan a few pages for you. i have fsm's for 90-98.
btw where did you find a rebuild kit? i paid to have one rebuilt last year, but now i wish i had an extra to play with.
