yo

i got my sr20det a week ago. the clip that i got has seen some rain, and there was water in the shifter, so i got a replacement from the shop i got it from: neishlin.

now, i have the clutch and whatnot assembled correctly, but the transmission doesn't slide in.

does anybody know what else i need to do to get it back in?

or tips or whatnot

thanks =D

Did you test fit the disc onto the input shaft? Is the disc properly aligned? Do you have the correct pilot bearing?

If it's not any of those just apply some good old fashioned elbow grease!

Sometimes, it's a PITA to get on there, you have to twist it just a little bit and eventually, it'll slide on.

The pilot bearing is the bearing that is in the center of the flywheel. The end of the input shaft of the transmission slides into this. And yes, the transmission can be a royal PITA to get in there.

Jack up the front of the engine to tilt it a bit. Also rotate the whole trans counter-clockwise from straight up about 45 degrees, this allows more clearance between the large flat top of the trans and the firewall / tunnel.
