Okay, so I'm finishing up my 5speed swap on my '93 hatch and I had just finished bolting up the transmission to the block, but when I tried to bolt up the crossmember, it was at least an inch too far forward on each side with the transmission completely bolted up to the block.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I have a SOHC transmission and crossmember.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Nevermind about this second part, it starts now.

But could anyone tell me where this ground goes? I have the other side of it too and it looks like it grounds straight to the alternator or something, but I'm not sure.

it doesnt hurt to add grounds, but if there is no ground from your block/intake manifold to the chassis

add one. that could be it.

that wire looks thin, you can make a fat one with big copper terminals if you like.

in fact, do it

Well that one went to the bottom of the two grounds on the alternator.

Also though the battery/alternator won't hold a charge. could the ground from the block to the chassis help with that as well? Cause I've had that problem since I bought the car like 4 years ago.

Oh! and this morning when I turned on my car to test it some more, I put it in reverse (Any gear that I put it in at that point was really hard to shove in there) and even with the clutch in, the A.S.C.D. was working and moving the car on it's own. is that normal? I redid the wiring so that it's just the starter and alternator to the relay box and the pos battery cable to the starter. with the negative in the stock position on the intake manifold.

Sorry for all the questions I just wanna drive her
