transmission question

I have a 1991 240sx. The car has an orig 45K (on everthing) i have done basic mods I/h/e. The transmission seems like it is shifting very firm almost hard(this is an automatic by the way). Sometimes the transmission will shift nice and light but at other times very firm to hard. I wanted to see just how other persons auto trannys shift.......Does anyone have an idea if this is normal, and if not any suggestions would help me.

there is a clip you can unplug on the drivers sid of the engine bay, that controls how hard it shifts. if you unplug it it will shift hard. theres a faq about it in 240sx.org. 45k miles sounds really low for anything to be going wrong with your transmission. my friends s13 started shifting hard one day, and that night the tanny went out. found out that the coolant lines going to the transmission were unpluged and the transmission overheated and buned up. but i doubt thats what your problem is. try changing the fluid.
