your clutch should come with a kit for that, if it doesnt, go to the auto store and get gear oil, throw out bearing, pilot bearing(should come with your lcutch) alignment tool.

there are no gaskets.

i would recomend draining the fluid first, otherwise its messy.

mark the driveshaft were you drop it by scratching it with a razor blade, you might never have to market it again.

have ready wreches and sockets ranging from 10mm-19mm, and a cheater bars helps.

you will need a friend to help you with this (it makes it soooo much easier).

remember to remove all sensors, the slave cylinder, starter before droping the transmission.

you will need a torque wrench for the flywheel.

you need grease.

have a fun time, and its recomended to breakin the clutch with smooth easy driving for about 500 miles before its ready to be beaten...i didnt, but i just found out that you are suppost to.

good luck and have fun.

remeber, you can pick unp the ka transmission alone, but just to place it on/off the jack during the flywheel/clutch stuff.

ya, i suggest taking it down at the center carrier bearing, then scratch into it, on both sides with a razor blade. you need to mark it some how (not at the transmission thoguh) because the driveshaft if balanced the way it is on your car right now.

the tool should be like 5 bucks, or see if someone wants to sell a used one to you, just start a thread in the sale categorie...

if you dont have some sort of manual i would highley suggest it, especialy when you putting everything back together and you have like 50 bolts and have no clue what goes where.

let mem know if you have any questions.matt

I hate to say it man but its a hell of alot harder than it sounds if you've never replaced a clutch on a 240. Maybe its just me and my friends and I just had bad luck, but getting the transmission on was a nightmare and anyone else that has done it on a 240 knows it to be true. If your going to do this don't forget the slide hammer, you can rent it from autozone for free for a deposite of $40, also don't forget the attachment to pull the pilot bushing out and replace that. I also used it to take the throw out bearing too. Like he said, try to keep good track of what bolts go where, if not, your going to have a real hard time figuring out what bolts go where. Good luck!

It is no small task, but it can be done.

I dont know why sdtouge said you need a slide hammer? Ive pulled the transmission outa my car twice in a driveway and 2 other times i had it on a lift. Its only a little bit easier with a lift for the particular thing. Even if the splines are ligned up and it is part of the way in, chances are its not gonna just slide the rest of the way. How to get it all the way on will take some creative thinking.

But dont let the difficulties discrouage you, once you do it the first time the rest will be easier and easier.~Sam

well i bled it and got it to move now but the slave cylender deeley is still all sorts of screwed. no pressure in clutch and now the little shaft on the slave cylender sticks out too far to get it back in.

yes i used the tool, everything went in exactly the way it came out, i even labeled things as they were coming out. and now i'm trying to bleed it. as soon as i tighten everything up though the clutch locks. is my slave cylender maybe just screwed.
