So here's the gist of things so far: today, I was making my drive back to school with a friend, and I had the Z packed with stuff (tools, jack, jackstands, clothes, etc..) So when I stopped for gas, I started the car back up, and there was a shrieking sound coming from the rear of the motor/front of transmission. I've heard what worn out bearings sound like on pulleys on other peoples cars, and it's a possibilty that this could be a bad T.O.B. But what I don't understand is, why is my throwout bearing going out and I got a new one with a new clutch and flywheel kit about a year ago? Also, does anyone have any experience with Gripforce clutch kits? b.c. that's what I have.

A Few other helpful symptoms:
While I was driving, the transmission tunnel started getting hot
When I just tried to start the car, It made a very horrifying sound, so it's completely immobilized

Check your fluids to begin with as that would cause those symptoms

As far as the gear oil? I've never had leaks, but I'll look into that into the morning

Also, try letting out the clutch in neutral and see if the sound goes away.

It won't even start now. at first, it sounded like a bad bearing, but now it sounds like something is seriously wrong in there

What does it do when you try to start it? Is the check-engine light on? Timing belt still intact?

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the engine, because when I try to start it, the noise seems like it's coming from under me. The sound resembles metal banging around inside the front area of the transmission, and the gears still shift. I can't determine if the check engine light is on because I don't want to risk forcing a start through all that noise. I wanted to drop the transmission by myself for the first time, but I haven't found a write up on it anywhere

I'm confused now, you said it doesn't start....but you say when you were trying to start it...?

Have you tried starting it? Does it start?

If you are planning on dropping the transmission, do you have all the equiptment you will need? It needs to be fairly high off the ground (4 jackstands) and you can either muscle the transmission out or use a floorjack w/transmission adapter. I use a couple long (2-3') 1/2" extension bars with a u-joint to get the upper transmission bolts from the rear of the transmission. Basically you remove exhaust, remove driveshaft, support transmission, remove transmission crossmember, remove shift linkage bolt, remove transmission bolts. Pull towards the rear! Bingo

^^ Pretty much sums it up. Sounds to me like you may have broken your flywheel ring gear. Get a video of what it's doing.

so this might be the most embarrassing post, but it turns out that I won't have to drop the transmission. In fact I just got done driving home lol. turns out that the starter was misaligned, and that was causing the horrifying noise. When i jacked the car up earlier... I found that the flywheel was bruised up, but a quick remove and reinstall was all it took. turns out my starter bolt hole on my transmission is stripped, and the starter was thrown completely off. Does anyone know how to heli-coil? if so, can you throw some tips my way?

Machine shops will usually do helicoils pretty cheap. Just ask around.
