transmission problems

I have a 89 240 coupe. When i start my car and put it in drive every now and then it acts like it is stuck 2nd gear but i have it on the D...But when i stop and turn it off for 30 sec. or so and re start it, it acts fine....Just wondering if anyone knew what caoul be wrong....It only does it every now and then..

Hard to say, it could be mechanical or electical. I would suggest changing your transmission fluid and filter if you havn't lately to start.

Yes i have recently done that thinking it would fix it, but didnt..
