transmission problem *video*

Ok, so I bought this transmission a few weeks ago that I am going to use for my AT>MT swap, I had some time to work on the transmission tonight and I saw something odd. After installing the shifter and using the snap ringlet to hold the shifter in place it seems that I can only move the shifter into 1,2 gear.I am unable to move the shifter to the right or up or down when in the neutral position. I know the s13 uses the H shifter patter so I not sure when I am getting this clucking sound with no movement.Is this normal with a transmission that has not been installed?Is the transmission F'ed?Any ideas?

let me get this straigh.you're not able to shift in to 5th or reverse right?it looks that you're missing some screws from the top and that your transmission is stock in gear(either 5th or reverse)

i cant shift into 3,4,5 or R.the screws are missing because I took them off, to look under the shifter cover to see if anything was stuck under there
