Tonight when i was leaving the movies...I was creaping throught the mass of people in the parking lot and my 93 240 started to shimmy pretty badly. It has never done that before. If i give it a little gas and let lightly off of the clutch it will do it but the more gas i give it the more it shimmies. I can tell it does it a little while accelerating through 1st gear..but after that i dont really have a problem. Does anyone know what Im talking about and if this is a major problem? Please let me know.-daniel

I need further explanation if you can.

How do you get it to "shimmy"?

Does it make any noises while it's doing this?

How do you get it to stop "shimmy"-ing?

You say "shimmy", does this mean the car shakes, jolts, or something of that nature?

Is your car an auto or 5-speed? What have you done to it as far as modifications?

does it shake real bad 'cause the revs are too low and the engines gotta try real hard to turn over?

the car starts to shake ...especially in the rear...but it stops as soon as I let off of the clutch and give it gas...or engage it fully

either you dont know how to drive manual :arcadefre (no offense)

-or-

your clutch is worn unevenly from side stepping the clutch too much or some other funky agressive driving activity

i would say driveshaft but thats only at high speeds (i think)

my car does the same thing.. when i slowly let it into first.... its starts to feel like the clutch is uneven and its catchin evey so often.. i noticed it started doing this ever since i started dropping my clutch at the track.. so i'm sure that either my clutch is uneven or my flywheel has some hot spots on it.. i'll know for sure when i get my new racing clutch put in.. and maybe a lightened flywheel if mine can't be resurfaced......
