transmission PROBLEM

Good morning new to board, I lost reverse in my 1995 pathfinder this weekend auto transmission goes forward but not reverse, you can feel it go in reverse when you put it in R but does not move, good fluid not burning?any opions on this!

Its pretty common with the RE4R03A trans (thats in the pathy, twin turbo Z, Q45, etc)... You are either going to have to live without reverse or replace the trans. You could try doing a flush and cleaning the pan/filter as well.

Wrong, the pathfinders came with the RE4R01A transmissions. Probably burnt out the reverse clutch.

yeah you're right, my bad, they are basically the same transmission though (except the 01A is less beefy).... I know something else besides the Q45 and twin turbo Z used the 03A..

The wikipedia article is wrong though because the Q45 definitely uses the RE4R03a, but you guys dont care about that..

:o I care about it!!1It's interesting to me, and maybe it's wrong, but the auto in my QX is the same as a 240sx. .

the 240 definitely does use the 01A...

Seems like a huge amount of overkill for our USDM N/A KA. . hahaunless it's just underkill for the 50,000 pound QX4. .
