transmission prob

s14 5pd. when i shift to 2nd gear, it grinds like crazy. sometimes i have to force it in. but after about 20-30min ride it eventually goes away. what can cause something like this?thanx

how many miles are on your transmission? Could be your synchros are gone. Your oil is probably heated up a bit to give a bit better lube to your gears and synchros and quieted things down a bit. Try using a better gear oil to help be a bit softer on em. Try redline mt-90 or the motul motylgear. The gear 300 isn't really recommended since it's for new trannies and doesn't do anything for older trannies already feeling their age.

sweet, thanks for that info my transmission is doing the same thing also, i will try geting better gear oil.
