There are a number of things it could be...use the search button at the top of the page that is flashing red. I had the same problem you are having...so I'm in the process of doing the 5 speed conversion (which you can find out how to do that by using the search button as well). It cost me as much for the kit from orlandopowerline.com as it would have to have had the auto rebuilt...plus a 5 speed in a sports car is a lot more fun then a granny shifting auto. Good luck.

ECU unit may have burned out. It is located under the passenger side kick panel, at the top front behind the blower motor. A bit of a pain to get to. When you finally get it out you would have removed the CPU for the engine, unfastened the PDL module?, and removed the blower motor to access it. It plus into a harness just like the CPU. When you remove it there are three cover screw which you remove with a phillips head screw driver. Look at the resisters (Grey with stripes) and look for burnt ones. You may want to take it to someone who knows electronic components to do a visual with you. An ECU rebuilt is in the neighborhood of $175. with your old one exchanged. Forget dealerships, they want $500. Also you should have your transmission pressures checked. There could be other problems that need attention. Good luck. Matt

Mispelled "plugs" into the harness. Whoops!
