Ever since I got the car, my third gear always used to grind whenever I tried to shift into it quickly.. so I got used to going into 3rd slowly, double clutching.. whatever..
Recently, my 2nd , a little on 3rd and even reverse gear started making this weird noise when I went into it and the noise would go away once I let go of the clutch to engage the transmission. The noise is like something scraping but not a regular gear grind.
So I went and got some Royal Purple 75w-90 gear oil and just changed it last night, hoping that would take care of it, but it's still happening.
Sometimes it seems like it doesn't make any noise when I first start driving the car and then after I'm driving for a little bit, the noise comes up again during the shift.
Some searching told me that it could be the synchros and to change the gear oil (which I did, of course), I'm sure that would be really hard to change the synchros, though.
What should I do? -Thanks
**here's a video I just took; listen to the noise as it goes into second. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG0ZzOe7Jlw
