I just got an 04 350z track edition , and it seems that the transmission make excessive noise. The nissan tech told me that it is natural cause its an agressive transmission( whatever that means) he told me to try full synthetic Fluid for the transmission and the rear diff. Have any of you guys experiance this before? And another thing when I start to drive off I can hear a creeking sound coming from my suspension, like in those scary movies when you're walking up some old creepy stair case. has any one had this on their cars? HELP please.Thank you very much.

I have an 05 Nismo z and mine makes noise when I engage the clutch, or when I'm first taking off. But only if I release it quickly. The knocking noise while sitting, at idle, with the clutch released is the dual mass flywheel. It kind of knocks. If it is making a whining noise then it's probably the input shaft bearing.

i'll have to say I have the same thing... at idle I hear the bearing spinning i guess and when then when I press the clutch in.. it stops. Is it the bearing that's making the noise? I had friends with super single clutches and the transmission sound was loud..

Yeah it's the bearing. But it's normal. The bearing will only make the spinning sound when the clutch isn't pushed in.

no, the throwout bearing makes the noise only when the pedal is depressed, if you have a noise thats relieved by pressing the clutch then you have something else wrong

I dont understand that... when the pedal is depressed, isn't the bearing stopped...? While the pedal is released, the bearing spins , right? It's just a whirring sound until I press the pedal in and it stops.. much like the sound of a bearing spinning.. a noisy one. Not noisy enough to consider something wrong though.

when the pedal is pressed in the t/o bearing is pressed against the tines of the pressure plate, and seeing as the pp is spinning it spins the t/o bearing, when you let off the pedal the to bearing retracts and is no longer in contact with the pp

the noise is the flywheel. and you guys please do yourself a favor and use nissan synthetic 75w-85 in these transmissions. They don't like anything else. The nissan fluid will give you better life of the trans than just about anything out there. These trans' do have a 3rd gear that will not last long without the nissan fluid and a good driver. The dualmass flywheel will actually "bounce" it self on a quick shift if the clutch is not pressed at the right moment and the engine revs as soon as the plate releases....this causes just enough distubance in the trans to mess with your 2-3 shift if it's not perfect..... the Nissan fluid helps that also because it has the friction coefficients needed for those synchro's...
