Hey everyone and anyone who can help me. I have transmission problems-or at least I think it's in the transmission. Here's the problem. When I have the car in first gear and have the clutch pressed down and give it a little gas to about 1.5 RPM and let the clutch off a little until the clutch engages, the car (transmission) makes a high pitched noise. It sounds like an air-powered impact gun, only at a lower noise level. Also, I can feel a slight vibration in the stick shift (that's why I think it's in the transmission). Mods in terms of my transmission include only an ACT street/strip clutch kit. After the car engages, and I accelerate, the noise goes away and don't hear it unless I put it into neutral again. And when it goes into neutral, the noise comes on and off until I rev the engine and then it'll go away. What's the problem??? Anyone got any suggestions?? Is it my synchros, clutch, or what?? How much will it cost and will I most likely have to get a new transmission??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
