At the risk of totally alienating everyone on this site, I'll tell ya straight up... I dont own a z or a sx. (Actually, I do own a 93 240SX, but the body is wrecked and Im gutting the engine)
My situation is this, I own, and upgrade a 96 Hardbody pickup truck. HOWEVER, aftermarket performance parts and accessories are few to none for my truck... if I am lucky enough to find a part that Im looking for, the expense is astronomical.
Currently, I am pushing 130 hp and 155 torque, with a 4.88 gear ratio. Which is fine for most applications.. if I just used my truck to drive to work back and forth every day it would be adequate. But im one of those who actually like to use the truck for what it was designed to do... thrashin :ylsuper
SO, I did my homework, (as much as i could find anyway), and found that my wifes ex-husbands 1993 240sx has the KA24DE in it. Currently, my pickup has the KA24E.. I assume the block is the same. SO, I figuered, since there are bijillions of parts and accesories for the 240's, I'll do an engine swap and Ill gain 155 hp in just a stock swap. If I part out the remains of the 240 and use the money to performance out the motor before I install it in my truck, I can prolly beef it up to about 210-250 hp relatively cheaply. (Cheap compared to what it would cost to do it to my current truck motor).
My question is, would the transmission's match up? Bolt Pattern wise? My transmission number is FS5W71C, but I have NO IDEA what the transmission is in the 93' 240. I have made arrangements to purchase the vehicle, but it's gonna require a three day drive to pick it up, so I havent had the opportunity to dig into it and see just how interchangable parts are in these two vehicles.
Thanx for your time
