transmission leaking oil...

so i'm prepping my transmission today to bolt it up to my engine and finally get everything mounted up in the car....and i notice that when i tip the transmission back (shifter lower than bellhousing), oil would leak out through the driveshaft hole.

I'm wondering if this is normal....i'm thinking its not.

Also, when i drained the oil there wasn't much in there, most likely due to it spilling out the back.

What needs to be replaced to fix this, and how hard is it?

if you pull the driveshaft out w/o draining the gear oil first it will pour out from the driveshaft yoke .
