Are Z32s known to have transmission leaks?
I poured a 2-part transmission treatment in and drove around town and on the highway.
My car was a bit quieter and I experienced smoother shifting of my A/T's gears from 1st to 2nd than ever before.
The next morning, I noticed a puddle (about 3 1/2" in dia) in the driveway. It was the color of transmission fluid.
The temp is about 28' so its cold and I haven't gotten under my Z for a visual.
Just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar I should consider as a first look?

Thanks for your insight!

Could be spitting overflow, how does the level look? Did you overfill it?

Hey NoLimit,
Its poosible I had an overflow, but I poured the treatment in a day earlier and miles away from my driveway and an extensive test run. I'm also scratching my head because it drove better by the end of my run during the evening of pouring the treatment. It decreased in performance and sounded louder the next morning when I saw the small puddle in my drive. I don't know if there's a drain plug (like there is for oil) so I haven't checked for a missing screw. Our temperature will go up to around 40 mid week so I may brave it and climb under the car. I'm feeling inclined to take it to the shop for an inspection. Wish me success.

I can't help you much with internet troubleshooting, I'm not well enough versed in ATs, get under there and find where the leak is coming from. GL.

I took my Z to a transmission shop and they found no issues with the transmission. They ended up not charging me anything for their time. They reported that they got a code for the right (passenger) side O2 sensor. I purchased a replacement but have not installed it yet. I will take it to a shop to have the car lifted and installed from below. I do not want to climb under my car even though I've put it on jack stands several times. Its just one of things I can't bring myself to do.

Grab a friend and get them to get you set up properly with jack stands. It's not that bad. They are super simple devices. Just never get under a car that is being supported by a jack...that's how you get killed.

Anyways, I guess its possible that your "transmission treatment" is way thinner than it should be. Pretty sure the recommendation is Redline MT-90 for all the transmissions. There's also a rear output shaft seal on the end of the transmission between the driveshaft that could leak.

Thanks ThisIsSparTTa,
I don't know what the viscosity is for the fluid I put in the transmission, but that makes sense it might leak if too thin. I do have jack stands and would like to check the seals at the connection you mentioned, but could someone share (perhaps with pics) where to support the Z using Jack Stands? My wife and children would greatly appreciate it.
I also would then get a good look at the Center Carrier Bearing (a possible issue mentioned by another Z Jedi on another post) to see if it is compromised.

Thanks for the suggestions and all are welcome!!

I was thinking that it could be because leaking somewhere because it was thinner but then again I don't know enough about the auto trans.

DON'T PUT MT-90 INTO IT!!! Its an auto... It doesn't use gear oil... I'm not sure what the "go to fluid" is for the Auto trans but it is def not Redline MT-90. I suggest you check the FSM.

So guys, this whole transmission issue originated from the crappy, rough ride between 2500-3500rpm.
If you read my post 'Sounds like a blender' you'll learn that my engine blew and needed replacing. In my mechanical venture, I unbolted the driveshaft to learn that the center carrier bearing had shredded. My driveshaft wss flapping around like a fish out of water when I drove.
When everything is bolted in the driveshaft feels solid when I tried to shake it by hand.
While in gear, there was no visible evidence of the center bearing being worn out.
