Put about 3 bottles of Redline MT-90 into my SR20 5 speed. Just making sure its just some overflow and not a full blown leak. Appears to be coming from above the transmission, not on the fill or drain, near the actual shifter. Pics to follow.

It seems to only be near the rear of the transmission. It seems slightly forward of the shifter but I can't tell. It could have just been it overflowing on a flat surface and getting some of it forward of it. Only other thing is it wasnt pooling in the shifter(check the pics). I'll have to check in the morning. If anyone has had a similair experience with overfilling or has had a transmission leak and can describe the circumstances I'd appreciate it.

It looks like its just overflowing. But just tighten down the bolts around it, just to make sure.

Yea I know why, put a stock shifet and rubber boot back in, I had one of those short shifters 5 yrs ago and it was the same way, its impossible to put a seal on them, thats why its leaking, it actually has nothing to do with how much fluid is in the transmission, it will do it no matter what. Its a design flaw in the shifter assembly.

Where exactly are you talking about? I have the rubber dust cover around the actual shifter, its just moved out of the way. Are you talking about something different?

Well its coming out of the top but it's never done that before. I just think its overfilled. Another thing, my shifter bushing was in 2 pieces so I got one of those "HELP!" shifter bushings. Will that work well in there or should I get something else?

The SR transmission only hold 2 1/4 liters so you overfilled it. It is always better to fill it through the fill plug until it runs out instead of through the shifter(if you have access to a lift). I have a megen vs. II short shifter (the B&M copy) that comes with the plate. I sealed it with the factory nissan red gasket maker because the stock plate was leaking when I got the car.
