Hey guys i been guessing about my problem being the Rev Sensor and such but i wanted to described what is going on now so hopefully one of you guys can lead me in the right direction.

When i start driving from the light my car revs up to about 5,000 RPM and doesnt shift, it feels like im in netural, if i step on the gas harder the car moves but the RPMS jump to 7,000. I have to let go of the gas then it drops to about 1,000 then i step on the gas again and it does the same thing.

In order to fix this i either have to keep letting of the gas and stepping on it or i have to pull over, turn the car off then on again and pray it doesnt do it again. it seems like after the car warms up it doesnt really do it anymore but it does happen on occassion. Sometimes when im driving and my foot is on the pedal light the rpms just shoot up to 3,000 like im reving it. I've had the car for about 3 months no the transmission oil hasent be changed nor the filter."

When they dropped the pan 2 months ago there was no shavings in the oil so could it be:

A Bad rev sensorFluid and filter need to be changed, or ect?

Not sure why you didnt replace the filter when you had the pan off ?????

Whats the fluid look like with the white paper towel test ??

Should be BRIGHT pink.

If the filter is clogged it can starve the transmission. Not good.

Time for a new transmission. Fluid/filter change cant repair worn out hard parts{slipping}. Infiniti rebuilt is about $3,000 installed.

I thought my problem with the car after changing the timing belt was over.

Apparently not. My issues are almost similar to alex61089After I changed the timing belt by a professional mechanics. Here is what happens.

The car goes nicely to 45mph, accelerating okay and then suddenly, I feel that something slips. You can feel that the engine rev changed or something, and then the car would not want to accelerate anymore. If you have open space in front you can really push the accelerator alot and then the car would pick the speed. But if you are in a light then it would be really hard to accelerate further the car would really not want to gain speed.

This problem is intermittent. First I took it back to the mechanic he found that he forgot to put back the vacuum line and told me probably thats the reason for this. But after I returned, next day the same thing. But sometimes it does not show up. I mean if you say start the car and accelarate with 4000 rpm then sometimes you dont see the problem. That is what happenned the next time, I could not replicate the problem once I went to the mechanic. I checked the tranmission fluid looked nice pink. The car mileage is 121k. After I bought I learnt that the timing belt was not changed which was due 105k. If it would have been the transmission why would it showup after the timing belt change.

Ok ! Just came back from a new mechanic. He said the timing belt was off by a tooth or thread whatever. He fixed it. tranmission is fine. The car now rides very nicely. Man, with all this fiasco I even forgot how nicely the car used to accelerate before. Today, after the new repair, I felt the same. Thanks.

my transmission is not slipping it is downshifting and shifting based on the slighest depressment of the gass pedal. If i step on the gas it switches to 4th gear, if i let go it automatically downshifts to 3rd gear, if the transmission was slipping it wouldnt slip exactly at the times i do this which is millions of times a day. So it's something that is telling it to up shift and downshift.
