transmission issues

my 1995 Q w/150,000 k which purrs like a kitten, came up with a transmission malfunction error on friday and locked me into 3rd gear, sometimes it will reset and act normally. Brought it to a reputable transmission guy, scanned the computer and the 2nd gear celanoid error appeared. The celanoids only come as a pakage so to replace them and the filter and gasket $390.00.the celanoids from infinity alone are $389.00. has anyone had similar issue??

Pretty rare for solenoid to actually fail, but the electrical connections [internal or external] or varnished up plunger from failure to perform your maintenance. Or the valve body that the solenoid controls.

well we replaced the solenoid pack and she performs well the 2nd gear solenoid was completely locked up. the whole job w/filter and gaskets was $350.00.
