this is kind of a tough one. i had the tt swap done about 3 months ago and along with it i replaced the clutch and flywheel. i'm almost positive my sync ring for fourth gear is shot, and think the one for first is starting to. when i go to put it in first it's fine if i do it slowly and just wait for it to slide in, but if i push it in it klunks like hell. but anyway, i'm asking for an opinion on rebuilding my current transmission or wether purchasing a new one is the better way to go. or a more inexpensive fix if anyone has any sugestions

Try replacing the shifter bushing. It could be part of the problem. Also try using Redline trans fluid. If that doesn't work, then go to the more expensive repairs.

Did you check and or change your pilot bearing? Alot of people don't replace it and it will cause the input shaft to drag even when the clutch is released and cause premature wear on your synchros.
