transmission harness wiring

does anybody know where this wire goes...it a black/red wire in the transmission harness and its really thick. from a 90 240sx.

The big black/red one with the boot goes to the starter and the other one goes to your battery. Only thing is that it's missing a part of the terminal. There's a place for two plugs to go into. If you plan on using the regular plugs for your other electronics, you'll need it. Otherwise, you'll need to crimp on some ring terminals to the two wires (I think they're what 8 gauge wires?) and then hook them up to the tightening bolt through the terminal.

well allmotorka was trying to help me out with this and we got that down but then where does the red main cable go thats on the postitive terminal

Dude It looks like someone has replaced the positive battery cable and has lazily laft the old one in the car. I judge that by looking at your second pic and can clearly see 2 cables coming up to your battery in the background.

the ones u see in the background are grounds. so do u think if i just have the red one it should work? is the black/red wire connected to anything else in the transmission harness??

no it is wired exactly as stated earlier. I am curious as to why you have to battery cable size grounds there. Are you 100% sure they are both grounds???

that too ive learned is different than other 240's. i have the ground that goes from the terminal to the battery tray then to a ground. then theres another cable thats from the terminal to the intake manifold
