Ive read through the sticky for the s13 swap but don' see an answer to my question one or two others asked the same thing but never got there question answered.

Ive done a 5spd swap on a 90 240sx sohc, it though i remember seeing in a post somewhere saying that you can use the old auto harness to plug in your 5spd. well when i droped the auto i noticed all the plugs on it are different than the plugs for the 5spd, so how can this be? Did i misunderstand?

Do you need a manual trans harness and you use the auto harness so you can wire up the car so it will turn on and to make the lights work?

if so the manual trans harness is missing on the list of materials form the tut and needs to be corrected.

i did mine, but mine is a 94 so i dont know if it will be the same. i didnt use the transmission harness. i just used the connectors so i can jump the neutral switch. i also ran 2 wires from the reverse switch on the manual trans to the connector to get my reverse...there is a write up on the 5sp conversion, but dont know if its the same for a single cam....hopefully this helps.

so you used a manual harness and the auto harness? but you used the auto harness just to cannibalize it for the plugs so you could get the lights and ignition working?

just to let you all know. i figured it out, i go the car running by doing the connector jump like sticky said, the speed sensor plugs right into the main harness, and you need the auto harness to fashion some stuff for the reverse lights.

i was so confused because i was swapping from a donor car and his wiring was so stupid he had s*** plugged in that didn't even work. he had it all wired up even the 4th and 5th speed sensor but he was running an auto computer.

anyways thanks the cars running good but i have a strange feeling i lost some low end... i can feel more the top end in it now though. wonder if it needs some gears.
