transmission harness question...

If im using the KA transmission harness what sensors/plugs do i need to swap? (other than the speed sensor, i swaped that already)

Just the reverse and 5th gear sensors I believe. Get a wrench on the metal part and just unscrew them. Also... replace before you fill transmission with oil (I made that mistake).

Also you need to replace the smaller connector that goes to the starter with a little crimp on spade connector. You will see what I mean when you try to hook it into the starter.

I take it someone else had their starter wire fall off and get extremely scared. I didn't know it was barely on there until I did my first oil change. I didn't touch it, I just remember thinking that it didn't look like it was on there very well. Then like 3 days later, I was racing, and it fell off and wouldn't start.Scared the hell out of me. So I whipped out my roll of electrical tape and wrapped it up with tape. Hasn't fallen off since.

Since the SR only has three sensors on the transmission (that i can see, look at the link if im confusing you) im assuming i just replace them all?

From the pic in your other thread. 1) is Neutral Position Switch, 2) is VSS, and 3) is Reverse switch.Just replace with the sensors from your KA that are in the same locations. If I remember correctly the KA has an extra sensor or two, so you just leave those alone. Also you can test #1 and #3 by seeing if they have continuity when they're in the correct location. #1 should have continuity only when in neutral, #3 should have continuity only when in reverse.

My Ka harness has 2 extra connectors at the very end and I dunno where they used to, since I already sold my KA transmission and engine. They don't seem important, but I'd like to know anyway.

This has been posted before, allong with pictures of what the plugs were and where they went.

KA plugs into SR transmission, that's all you need to do.
