ok i'm going to do a 5 speed conversion but its a 95 setup i know i have to drill out the bell housing for a sensor. now does the obd1 transmission harness matters or not.

The crankshaft position sensor that sits on the bellhousing is used for diagnostic purposes only; it's not used by the ECU for normal runnig, so you don't need to install it.

You don't need to change the harness for the auto-to-5 speed conversion.
