transmission harness question

alright i'm swapping an s13 sr20 from my 90 240sx to my 95 240sx. now the question that i have is when i was installing the motor into the new car, there is only like one plug that plugs into the fuse box. i had the main harness converted to work in the 95 but then someone else told me i had to use the transmission harness from the 95 transmission on the sr20 so it will work. is this true? or what help can you give me with this area, i really would like to have my baby back and this is killing me, its been about 4 months since i've had my car and no one seems to be able to help me.
